TRNSYS is a solar energy applications/simulation program. DIT's  School of Control Systems and Electrical Engineering has purchased TRNSYS software and licences for ten users. The intention is to distribute these licences to colleagues engaged in Solar Energy Research across DIT.

Full training in TRNSYS is available as a three-day course, and it is our intention to bring over the USA TESS researchers/trainers in January 2006. This will bring greatest benefit if users are already attempting to use the package.

A one-day preliminary training session will take place in DIT Kevin Street on Friday 27 May.  We have invited an experienced TRNSYS user (a Solar Energy researcher from University of Ulster) to provide the training and those interested in attending this preliminary session should contact: Kevin O'Farrell, extension 4772 or at
