Exchange Visit by Students of Northern Illinois University

DIT's Faculty of Business this week welcomed a group of students from Northern Illinois University as part of an exchange programme between the two institutions. The students are specializing in the study of sales, and are accompanied by the Professor of Sales at NIU, Professor Dan Weilbaker.  During their visit the students will have a series of lectures and presentations from faculty members and industry, and will also spend a day shadowing sales managers from a variety of companies.

The students arrived in Dublin on New Year's Day and spent the first week familiarizing themselves with the country.   They made a number of site visits, including participating in an overview of brands in Murphy's Brewery in Cork.   The formal launch of their visit took place in DIT Aungier Street with a reception and the students were welcomed by the President of DIT, Professor Brian Norton and Director of the Faculty of Business, Paul O'Sullivan.  They were also addressed by Mr John McCormack, Chairperson of the Sales Institute of Ireland who spoke to them about his own career in sales and shared some advice based on his own experience.

This is the third exchange between DIT and NIU. Last May a group of DIT business students spent two weeks in Northern Illinois following a similar programme.
