DIT launches Ireland's First Postgraduate Diploma in Fashion Buying and Management

14 December 2007: Ireland's first-ever Postgraduate Diploma in Fashion Buying and Management starts in DIT's Faculty of Business on 01 February 2008.  This exciting and innovative programme will provide an essential route of study for those interested in succeeding in the business of fashion.

Collaboration with experts from the London College of Fashion, Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh and Mod-Art International in Paris, combined with support from key figures in the industry, will ensure that students are exposed to all aspects of the fashion business in Ireland and internationally.  Modules will include Fashion Buying, Retail Operations Management, Sociology of Fashion, Materials and Fabrics, Fashion PR and International Fashion Retailing.  Programme Manager, Louise Conlon says 'This new postgraduate programme will be intensive and energetic.  Students will undertake a job placement, working with top class industry experts.  They will also travel to international fashion weeks to gain an understanding of the operational aspects of the business of fashion buying.'

The programme begins on 01 February 2008 in DIT Aungier Street campus and applications from suitably qualified candidates are being accepted currently..
