Role Model Day - Women in Engineering

The Faculty of Engineering, Dublin Institute of Technology, presents ?Role Model Day ? Women in Engineering?, on Friday January 30th, 2009.

Story Role Model Day 1

This event will give secondary school female pupils an insight into the world of women engineers and technologists.  The event is targeted at transition year, 5th and 6th year girls, who will be provided with a glimpse into the real life of a working engineer and, hopefully, some ideas which may help them to make up their minds about a future career path.

The role models will tell their own stories ? the ups and downs of life in the world of work and the route they have taken to get to their current job.

The day will begin on with an introductory session, followed by a series of presentations from our guest role models. In each of the presentations, role models from a range of engineering careers will describe their working experience. Towards the end of each presentation time will be allocated for a question and answer session.

Story Role Model Day 2

Students will have also an opportunity to chat with the role models on a one to one basis.  Refreshments will be served during the event.

To register, download the registration form here.

Please note that places are limited to 200 and will be allocated on receipt of registration forms, so please book early to avoid disappointment.  Each school may book a maximum of 10 places.

Completed forms must be submitted by 26th January and schools will be notified if they have been successful in reserving places.
