The Students' Awards Ceremony will take place in Dublin City Council Civic Offices, Wood Quay on June 10th, marking the official launch of the exhibition which includes a range of work by final-year students of fine art, visual communications, interior and furniture design, design display and product design. Together, they will mount the most varied graduate exhibition in the country.

According to Peter Jones, lecturer in DIT?s School of Art, Design and Printing, and co-ordinator of the graduate exhibition, ?Art and design is by nature evolutionary, relying on rapid changes in technology and software for the substance of its creative work.

With so many traditional disciplines integrating digital and new technologies, the lines between traditional works of art, new media and design continue to blur. This is reflected in the variety and scope of the works on view in this year?s exhibition. The exhibition is the culmination of a lot of hard work by the students and proves that they can produce distinctive and eye-catching work.?

Guest speakers at the official opening are opening will be three DIT alumni, sculptors Daniel Doyle, Niall Magee and Alan Magee, who have excelled in their field since graduating. Their company Duthain Dealbh has participated in sand, snow, ice and fire sculpture festivals and symposiums all over the world.

According to Peter Jones, ?Daniel, Niall and Alan are remembered as being gifted Fine Art Students and have exhibited their sculptors across the world Siberia to Singapore and China to Canada. They provide a fitting example of DIT graduates who have internationalised their careers by fully embracing global opportunities?.
