DIT’s Faculty of Tourism & Food organises Ireland’s Largest Cocktail Challenge

The 5th DIT – Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard Cocktail Challenge took place on Thursday, November 26th 2009. This year 95 mixologists currently studying and working in the hospitality and licensed trade premises showed their creativity and competed in the cocktail challenge. This magnificent entry makes this year’s competition Ireland’s Largest Cocktail Challenge to date.

DIT students proved their talents with Ian Alvey, of DIT’s Department of Bar Management, winning 'best long drink cocktail' and Stuart McCoy, of DIT’s School of Culinary Arts & Food Technology claiming top prize for 'best short drink cocktail'.

DIT is the leading provider of education, training and research for the culinary and food related industries in Ireland. The Institute offers a range of unique and innovative programmes including the BSc (Honours) in Bar Studies Management and Entrepreneurship.
