DIT lecturers launch book New Retro: Classic Graphics, Today's Designs

DIT lecturers Teresa Breathnach and Brenda Dermody today launched their first book ?New Retro: Classic Graphics, Today?s Designs?.

The book, which has already attracted positive acclaim from all corners of the world, is basically two books in one - a concise history of graphic design and an astute selection of contemporary work that makes great use of past inspiration. Published in English, Japanese and French by Thames & Hudson the book is one of only a handful of books about design written by Irish authors and published on an international scale by a major art/design publisher.

Drawing on classic examples from the history of graphic design, New Retro shows how the past can be updated to the needs of today.
