DIT Open Day 2009

10th December 2009

DIT's Open Day attracts thousands of prospective students

DIT's latest Open Day on Saturday, December 5 has proved to be one of the institute's most successful events to date. DIT opened its doors to more than 3,500 prospective students and visitors who had come to find out more about learning and life at DIT. The DIT Open Day gives prospective students the opportunity to gain first-hand experience of life at one of the world?s leading higher education institutes. (DIT is listed among the top 3% of the world?s universities according to the Times Higher Education - QS World University Rankings)

The event opened at 9:30 a.m. and the large crowds made for a great atmosphere. Throughout the day the exhibition area was bustling with the air of a Christmas fair. Each Faculty had set out their stall with an array of exciting exhibits, and over 300 staff members of the Institute were available to talk directly to students. Current students were also on hand to offer advice and to share their experiences of learning and life at DIT.

The event is designed to make it as easy as possible for people to get all the information they need under one roof. Potential students have the chance to tour facilities, meet lecturers and current students and attend talks on the programmes on offer across DIT. According to, Frank Costello, DIT Admissions Officer, "We endeavour to provide a comprehensive experience to ensure students leave informed and excited about their future with us here at DIT.?

The CAO deadline is 01 February 2010 and Frank is encouraging prospective students, parents and guidance counsellors to contact DIT?s Admissions Office at any time to find out more about their course choices.
