RTE Vanbrugh Quartet presents?

8th December 2009

On Monday 14 December, the acclaimed RTE Vanbrugh Quartet will present their second chamber music concert with the DIT ensembles, in the Gleeson Theatre, DIT Kevin Street. The RTE Vanbrugh Quartet took up a new post as lecturers in chamber music at DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama in January 2009, and through this new collaboration the members are continuing to develop chamber music in Ireland. Now in its twenty-fourth concert season, the Quartet is one of Europe?s most successful ensembles, recognised for its beauty of sound, clarity of texture and integrity of interpretation, within an unusually wide and varied range of repertoire.

The programme for this concert will include trios, quartets and quintets by Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert, Mendelssohn and more. The audience will be rewarded by wonderful performances by students of the Vanbrugh Quartet who are themselves the emerging musical talent of their generation. The concert will begin at 8pm and everyone is welcome to come to enjoy this exquisite music as an antidote to cold winter evenings and the frenzy of Christmas shopping!
