16th November 2010

In an exciting development DIT final-year students of the BA in Drama at the Conservatory of Music and Drama will present six short pieces of brand new, challenging theatre.

The plays were devised and will be performed by the students themselves.  In their invitation to the public to attend, they say that this is theatre that asks hard questions about our lives, but also laughs at life's absurdities and pursues life's pleasures.  "This work confronts issues of madness, media, body image, identity, sexuality and being young in today's ever-changing and insecure world. Don't miss this chance to see new theatre that is raw, dynamic and original!"

The plays are directed by Peter McDermott, drama lecturer in the Conservatory of Music and Drama, and the lighting design is by Ciarán O'Melia.

Date and time:  Tuesday 7th December at 1pm (2.30pm finish) and Wednesday December 8th at 7pm
Venue:  Theatre, Dublin Institute of Technology, Rathmines
Tickets:  €10 - students €5
Booking:  places limited - phone 01 402 7815 to book.
