School of Culinary Arts Open Day - 25th February 2010, 2p.m. - 4p.m. DIT Cathal Brugha Street, Dublin 1

The School of Culinary Arts and Food Technology invites CAO applicants to come and visit them on campus in Cathal Brugha Street on Thursday 25th February, between 2 pm and 4 pm. This annual Open Day provides a perfect opportunity for anyone considering programmes related to the culinary arts ? whether your interest lies in gastronomy, food innovation and product development, professional bakery, or any other area of food education. Current students and members of academic staff will be there to welcome you and to answer any questions you might have about what?s involved in a particular course of study; what your career options might be; or what further areas of study you can explore. Students in every year of their programme are central to all the activities of the School and their experience may be particularly helpful in giving new applicants a comprehensive picture of what?s involved in different programmes.

The School has been in existence for over half a century and has developed an international reputation for the excellence of its graduates. Offering a unique range of programmes at various levels from Higher Certificate to PhD, it is the leading provider of education, training and research for the culinary and food-related industries in Ireland. DIT graduates are working successfully in senior positions in a wide-range of businesses in the hospitality and food production sectors, and maintain close links with the School, providing valuable insight into the changing requirements of the industry sector. Academic staff members also maintain strong links with industry and with national and international professional bodies, thus ensuring that students develop the skills and knowledge necessary to compete at the highest level.
