Drama Society Reunion

13th December 2010

DIT Drama Society is over 30 years old and over the course of its life has seen many a student pass through its ranks. Controversy has never been far from the society’s door with controversial productions challenging social norms and pushing boundaries. The DIT Societies Office are now organising a Drama Society reunion scheduled to take place in March 2011, and are currently trying to trace as many graduates as possible who were involved in the Society.

A number of DIT staff, including Michael Foley, Stella Downey, Denise Dunphy and the Director of the College of Business, Paul O’Sullivan, have been very helpful and have given us the names of many people who were heavily involved in the Drama Society throughout the years.  These include Patsy Murphy who was instrumental in the society’s establishment, Seamus Dooley from the NUJ, RTE’s Lelia Doolan, and Mark Ivan Gorman. Many graduates who attended the College of Marketing and Design like Finnbarr Lynch, Sean Mahon and Dan McGuinness. More recent graduates include Domhnall Gleeson, Damien O Donnell, and Donnacadh O'Briain.

If you were a member of the Drama Society, or know someone who was, we would love to hear from you. Whether you have a tale to tell from the society’s history, a photograph that paints a thousand words, or would simply like to catch up with your old drama buddies at the reunion we want you to get in touch!
