Every year thousands of patients require blood transfusions in Irish hospitals, because they are undergoing surgery, recovering from cancer or have been in a serious accident. Giving blood makes it possible for many such people to lead normal healthy lives.  DIT Students? Union has organised for the Irish Blood Transfusion Service to bring their mobile clinic ? the Bloodmobile! - to DIT during February and students and staff are invited to consider giving blood.

To find out more about what?s involved in giving blood, look at the Irish Blood Transfusion Service website at http://www.giveblood.ie/.  The Bloodmobile, which is a purpose built vehicle, with a 3 bed clinic on board and is fully equipped to take blood donations, will visit three DIT campus locations during February on the following dates:

  • Thursday 11 February, 11 am ? 2.15 pm: DIT Mountjoy Square
To make an appointment to donate blood  please visit the DITSU stand in the cafeteria on Thursday 04 February
  • Wednesday 17 February, 11 am ? 2.15 pm DIT Bolton Street
