Delegation from NWAFU, Western China, visit DIT

Professor Brian Norton, President of DIT, welcomed a delegation this week from Northwest A&F University (NWAFU), which is located in Yangling in the Shaznxi province of Western China.  NWAFU is ranked in the top 40 Chinese universities and is part of the prestigious ?211? and ?985? programmes supported by the government of China. It has been delivering undergraduate education since 1939, and graduate programmes since 1941.  The current student body comprises 21,000 undergraduates and 6000 graduates students. 

The delegation visiting DIT was led by Professor Zhang, Chairman of the University Council, and Professor Hou, Vice President, and included representatives from the College of Economics, the Office of International Cooperation, the College of Natural Resources and the Yangling Agricultural High Tech Industries Demonstration Zone Liaison Office. DIT and NWAFU currently collaborate on student exchanges, with a number of DIT students of International Business and Languages currently studying Chinese in Yangling. The purpose of the visit this week was to explore possibilities for further collaboration between the two institutions at graduate and the research level.
