Ten fifth years Students from Synge Street Secondary School have successfully completed an Information Technology module in the DIT College of Business, Aungier Street.  This is the 2nd year of the programme which has been managed and delivered by Sean Trimble and Mary Lawlor from the School of Marketing.  One of the objectives of the programme is to work with schools in the local community and to provide students with valuable skills.

The students were invited to attend a special ceremony last week at which they were presented with their Certificates by Paul O? Sullivan, Dean of the College of Business.  The students were accompanied by their families and by members of staff of Synge Street School.

Congratulating them on their achievement, Paul O?Sullivan said that they had now developed expertise in the use of technology, including Microsoft programmes such as Word and Excel.  However, more than that, they had also got a taste of what it is like to go on to study at third level and while this may be first qualification they receive from DIT, he hoped they would be back as full-time students in the future.
