DIT @ the Irish Times Motor Show 25th – 27th February

Ireland’s first National Motor Show for over 20 years will take place in RDS Simmonscourt this weekend from the 25th – 27th February 2011, and DIT will be there!

DIT’s Department of Transport Engineering have a 12m x 12m stand and they will have a number of items on show that are sure to delight every motor enthusiast including a range of automotive and aviation engines and diagnostics equipment,  DIT’s very own rally car, formula student car and helicopter.

In addition, Members of the public will have the opportunity to roll up their sleeves and strip and re-build an engine.

Staff and current students from DIT’s Department of Transport Engineering will be available to discuss current courses and career paths in the transport industry.  DIT provides a number of courses, both technical and managerial, across a range of disciplines focused on the Transport Industry. The diversity of the courses provided reflects its involvement in training for all transport modes (Road, Rail Sea and Air). DIT recently launched a new level 7 degree programme dedicated to the motor industry, the BEngTech in Automotive Technology and Diagnostics. 

According to Declan Allen Assistant Head of Mechanical and Transport Engineering Department    “The Transport Industry is an exciting area in which to make a career and it offers many opportunities to suitably qualified and motivated people. It is one in which the challenges are great and the rewards substantial. The programmes offered by DIT have been designed to fully prepare and equip graduates to meet the challenges and demands of an ever-changing transport sector” 

DIT will be exhibiting at Stand number A8 at the Irish Times Motor Show from 25th – 27th February
