MA in Applied Media Studies┬┐

The MA in Applied Media Studies is a two-year, part-time master’s programme, which uses academic theories and concepts to help learners develop creative solutions to communications problems. The programme combines modules in media theory with community based learning, community based research and media advocacy.

The programme is ideal for:

  • Media professionals who wish to develop their understanding of media, culture and society
  • Professionals in public, NGO and voluntary sector organisations who wish to develop media advocacy skills
  • Professionals involved in community organisations and community-based learning
  • Educators interested in developing their knowledge of media studies and media literacy pedagogy

Entry Requirements

Applicants should hold a minimum qualification of a 2.2 in an honours degree. Exceptions to this condition will be permitted if an appropriate level of prior learning can be demonstrated.
