12th September 2011

The DIT Societies Office can’t wait any longer – they are looking for freshers to volunteer this Friday, 16th September, to participate in a river clean-up. According to Teri O Boyle in the Societies Office, “Students can make a difference and we want you to get involved in your first week of term! On Friday the 16th of September from 1pm to3 pm the DIT Societies Office is organising a volunteering project for induction week. It’s a river clean up - dont worry, you don’t have to actually get in the river! Anyone interested in joining in can register at www.socs.dit.ie/volunteering, or sign up at registrations next week! A bus will collect you at Aungier Street, and drop you back afterwards. And in return for your voluntary labour, there will be free food in Solas and a t-shirt and certificate for all who volunteer. You’ll be doing a good deed, but it’s also an opportunity to meet new people from all over DIT and make new friends for the year ahead - hope to see you all there!”

So, are you ready to sign up? Register here at www.socs.dit.ie/volunteering or go to the Societies stand during registration.¿
