19 November, 2012:    DIT Marketing Graduate Kevin Donnelly has just been named Marketer of the Year 2012 at a ceremony held in Dublin.   Kevin Donnelly is marketing director for Britvic Ireland.  He was awarded the title ‘Marketer of the Year 2012’ by fellow marketing professionals, for his work on brands such as Club Orange, for which he devised the successful 'Best Bits' campaign. He was presented with the award by Michael Cullen, editor, Marketing.ie, in association with sponsor Alternatives.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Michael Cullen of Marketing.ie said: "In its 20th anniversary year, Marketer of The Year(tm) recognises and honours standards of excellence in Irish marketing, and in particular for work done in the last two years. With so much internationalism where strategy is designed abroad and applied to a local market in a formulaic manner, it's good to see Irish marketers fighting for the recognition that locally devised strategy and implementation can really deliver brand success.  Kevin Donnelly fits that ideal perfectly for 2012."

Sandra Lawler, managing director of Alternatives added: "Kevin's practice of trying to make a real difference, understanding the value you bring, creating demand, having a strong voice and not being afraid of the path you choose is the type of philosophy that generates brand share and growth, leading to the sort of economic recovery we all hope for. He's a standout marketer and is fully deserving of the title."

DIT also would like to congratulate Kevin on his award.
