DIT Marketing Students Qualify for Network of International Business Schools

International Case Study Competition, 2012

21st February 2012: A team of DIT students on the BSc Marketing programme is preparing to leave for the Netherlands this week to participate in the 2012 NIBS International Case Competition, hosted by Rotterdam University. This annual competition, which was hosted by DIT in 2007, attracts teams from leading undergraduate business schools who compete in the week-long event.

Following the first ‘qualifier’ round, ten teams are going through to compete in the finals from 26th February to 3rd March. The finalists are drawn from around the globe including  Canada, USA, Belgium, Holland, Denmark and, of course, Ireland.

The DIT team, comprising Daniel Fogarty, Deirdre O’ Flynn, Aoife Walsh and Saragh Kileen,  is led and coached by Gerry Mortimer, Senior lecturer in Marketing, School of Marketing and Roger Sherlock, Head of Department of Marketing at DIT School of Marketing.

The Network of International Business Schools (NIBS) includes over100 business schools from around the world with a shared view that the internationalization of business and the globalization of the economy are essential elements in the evolution of managerial practices.

NIBS Business Schools in the USA, Canada and Europe have become excellent partners in study abroad activity for the College of Business in DIT.
