DIT Societies 2012 Christmas Appeal - Get Involved!

The Societies of DIT would like to invite all students and staff to "get involved" with the 2012 DIT Societies Christmas Appeal, which will be running from the 29th November to the 15th December. There are a number of ways to get involved and help throughout the campaign and raise money and awareness for the chosen charities; Wells for Zoe, the Capuchin Day Centre, Pieta House and World Aids Day the SVP Giving Tree Appeal.

Also this year there will be a Class Christmas Campaign; we're encouraging every class to take part in the Christmas appeal. The class that raises the most per student will win €500 to spend on whatever they want! Each class can raise money however they like, maybe everyone donates €2 or maybe one person does a sponsored silence for a day. Get together, think and log on to ditchristmasappeal.com to find out more.

The appeal comprises of :

  • The Giving Tree (in conjunction with DIT Sports, DIT Chaplaincy Service and DITSU), where students and staff can pick up a "Giving Tree" bobble from on-site Christmas Trees or from your local Soc Office or SU Office, and simply buy a present for that age group/sex and drop it back to any Societies Office or SU Office before the 7th December UNWRAPPED.
  • Numerous Bucket Collections and Fundraising Events during the Christmas Appeal week. Again this will be students collecting funds to donate to our chosen charities. We would welcome staff members to make collections within there offices or indeed get involved on campus collecting moneys.

Gifts for the Giving Tree will be collected on each campus on the 7th December and brought to SVP Head Office for distribution to families.

We would like as many students and staff of DIT to get involved and help as much as they can. For further information contact teri.oboyle@dit.ie or Volunteering Chairperson Cassie Delaney at volunteerchairperson@socs.dit.ie.
