DIT Students’ Union website recognised as a leader in its field.

01, November 2012: DIT Students’ Union (DITSU) were delighted to have their website (Ditsu.ie) chosen as a finalist for two categories at the recent Irish Web Awards ceremony at The Mansion House, Dublin.

The Realex Payments Irish Web Awards are held annually to recognise people who do great things on the web. The awards are judged transparently and are open to anyone in Ireland.

Ditsu.ie was a finalist in the ‘Best Discussion Forum’ and ‘Best Education and Third Level Website’ categories. Ditsu.ie was recently relaunched with new features such as a searchable Class REP database, accommodation listing and Q&A forums. These features were combined with a new approach to content provision aimed at providing DIT students with the relevant information they need during their student life.

DITSU President David Keogan was present at the Awards ceremony and had this to say:

"We are extremely privileged to be considered for such worthy awards which stand as a testament to the work completed by all involved in the development of our new website. It is always nice to have our work recognised by not only our regular visitors, but by a much wider audience who will hopefully now appreciate the level of service that websites such as Ditsu.ie can provide for their members."

DIT Students' Union (DITSU) is one of the largest Students' Unions in the country and is the representative body for all students of the Institute. All DIT students become members of the Students' Union upon registration.
