Dublin One City One Book

03 April 2012: During the month of April, students are being encouraged to join in this year’s ‘One City, One Book’ reading festival when everyone in Dublin is invited to read the same book. The chosen book for April 2012 is Dubliners by James Joyce. International students are also being encouraged to join in and be involved in the festival. An authentic insight into the cultural and historical characteristics of Dublin can be found by reading what is regarded as Joyce’s most accessible book. It is a fun and interactive way of getting to know Dublin, a city where thousands of students study every year.

Meanwhile, you can listen to actor Stephen Rea reading the famous last story in Dubliners - “The Dead” – on Radio 1, at 11 pm Monday to Friday nights, this week and next week. This will also be available on FM, Digital Radio, Saorview, and via the RTÉ Radio Player online and on mobile devices.
