ERASMUS in 2012/2013 –Applications from current DIT Students now being accepted

05th March, 2012: Interested in going on ERASMUS as part of your degree?

Erasmus is a once-off opportunity for students to study at another European institution for a semester or full year. The benefits (academic, social, personal and cultural) of participating in the Erasmus programme are huge.

Erasmus is rated highly by employers and many DIT students have found that their Erasmus experience has given them the confidence to work abroad after graduation or to continue their studies abroad.

It also gives students the opportunity to take modules that may not be available on your DIT programme; to specialise in a particular area for their final year project and to improve language skills. For some DIT students this will be their first time living away from home. The practical demands of living independently and coping in another country are challenging but the majority of DIT students who have participated in an exchange have had very positive experiences. It is an excellent opportunity to meet new friends; to travel in Europe and to integrate successfully into a different learning environment.

DIT currently has over 120 partner institutions throughout Europe and the list is growing. Many of these partners are listed in the top 400 institutions in the world in the Times Higher Education listing.

There are a number of grants available for students wishing to go abroad as part of their degree to one of our partner institutions in Europe or in some cases on a work placement.

A number of information sessions will be held in the next two weeks, so keep an eye out on the website or as friend us on Facebook for more information.

To register your interest and information on how to apply please visit the ERASMUS section of the DIT website: http://www.dit.ie/study/erasmus/outgoingstudents/
