5th June 2012: In September 2011, with the financial support of the Higher Education Authority and Springboard, the Dublin School of Architecture, DIT, admitted twenty students to the recently validated Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Analysis + Energy Retrofit (PG Cert DAER). This one year part-time programme specifically targeted architects and architectural technologists who were no longer employed. The programme content aims to develop skills in digital analysis, energy performance and retrofitting of existing buildings using the medium of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and a variety of energy design tools.
The first graduating class of this timely programme are now ready to share their work at a presentation in Bolton Street on Friday 08 June at 3pm. Working in association with Dublin City Council, the students will present exciting proposals for deep energy retrofitting of a Dublin City Council multi-unit residential flat block – in particular those blocks with roofs that call to mind a seagull.
The presentation will be followed by the opening of the end-of-year exhibition by graduating students of architecture, architectural technology and the postgraduate certificate in Digital Analysis + Energy Retrofit. The programme for the presentation is as follows:
