Public lecture by Professor Joshua Kahr

18th April 2012: The School of Real Estate and Construction Economics, Dublin Institute of Technology, will host a public lecture to be given by Professor Joshua Kahr, adjunct associate Professor of Real Estate Finance at Columbia University, New York. The lecture will be held in DIT, Bolton Street on Wednesday 25th April 2012 at 6 pm.

Professor Kahr’s lecture will deal with the major difficulties experienced by the United States financial industry,  linked to the collapse of residential and commercial real estate values.  He will discuss the primary drivers in the US financial crisis, relate it to the Irish experience and discuss what the future holds for real estate investors and developers in the United States.  Investment opportunities in distressed debt will also be discussed and cases from his personal experience in this market will also be explored.

Joshua Kahr is the founder and principal of the KAHR Real Estate Group. He is a nationally recognized expert in real estate market analysis, finance, and investment.   He has been involved in a wide range of aspects of the real estate business in the United States

In addition to articles that have appeared in academic and business journals, he is the author of the textbook, Real Estate Market Valuation and Analysis (John Wiley and Sons: 2005). He also wrote a book on the state of the housing market, Beyond the Bubble (Amacom Books: 2007).
