Sharpen your Skills with an MSc in Marketing

If so take a step towards achieving your goals with the MSc Marketing (Executive) programme which starts on the 31st January 2012. This two year part time programme runs two evenings a week in DIT Aungier Street.


Who is this programme suitable for?

This programme is suitable for any business/marketing professional looking for an opportunity to up-skill and to accelerate their career. This is a specialist Marketing masters and to apply you need to have an honours business-related degree, or equivalent professional qualification, and five years industry experience. This can be in areas such as Marketing, Sales, Advertising, Customer Service, Brand Management, Digital Marketing, Market Research etc. The programme is highly interactive in terms of its delivery as a result of the wealth of experience that participants bring to the learning environment.

What does the content address?

The first year of the programme focuses on functional knowledge and expertise through modules such as Integrated Marketing Communications & Digital Media and Brand Management. The second year focuses on managerial and organisational insights via modules on Innovation & Commercialisation and Change Management and Leadership. These modules are designed to be immediately relevant and beneficial to participants in their professional capacity and we are confident that this programme will have a real impact on their performance and their careers.

Is the programme manageable alongside a full time job?

Yes, the programme is up and running now for five years and in that time graduates have managed to hold down full time jobs and complete the programme successfully, some have even been promoted or changed jobs en route. Remember that everyone is in the same boat, everyone is working and trying to study at the same time. Delivery takes place in two blocks each year, February to May and then September to December, so there are no commitments over the summer.

Are there any industry links or networking opportunities?

The programme is run in conjunction with the Marketing Institute of Ireland (MII) and all participants are members, allowing them access to events. This plugs into a wider network of marketing professionals and thought leaders. The programme also incorporates a Marketing Seminar Series which provides a forum for industry speakers and leading Marketing academics and practitioners to engage and network with programme participants. Each group on the programme have a lot of real life experience and networks among the groups are strongly formed and last well after graduation. All graduates are also members of DIT Graduate Alumni widening their exposure to an even larger base of Marketing expertise and potential opportunities nationally and internationally.
