Avenue Q - The Musical

03 April 2013: This year DIT Drama Soc presents our first ever musical – the critically acclaimed Avenue Q! This musical has been a long time coming, and DIT Drama Soc is promising great things.

Avenue Q is the perfect college musical: it’s rude, hilarious, and asks that all-important life question “What do you do with a BA” once you’re out of college?

The musical is directed by Louise McLoughlin – a second year journalism student in Aungier Street. This will be her third production in DIT. Musical direction is by Raymond England, a final year music student in Rathmines, who is also an active member of the SU.

With talent not only from Drama Soc members, but also pulling in the skills of BIMM and the Conservatory of Music and Drama, this event will showcase the pinnacle of the wide talent base in DIT.

Our production crew includes Ciara Murnane, Eoin Ryan, Paddy Kerley and Pádraig Ó 'Meachaír to name but a few, and includes dedicated and enthusiastic students from almost every DIT campus. All have been actively involved in Drama Soc productions over the past few years.

The musical will be taking place in the fantastic location of Smock Alley on Lower Exchange Street, close to Wood Quay, and is running for two nights only, on the 15th and 16th of April.
