03 October 2013: The winners of the two half scholarship awards for the new MSc in Digital Marketing & Analytics at DIT have been announced.

The two award winners Rachel Gallagher and Carl Kane have started on the course, which recently included a ‘Future Proof’ panel discussion – anticipating future trends to minimise negative impact and harness opportunities.

Rachel Gallagher, a working mother of five, expressed her delight at receiving the award and said, “This course will give me a more concrete base from which to develop my career as a large amount of what I do in digital marketing to date has been self-taught.

“I am interested in covering all strands of a digital campaign including mobile and affiliate marketing, online PR, display advertising and, in particular, analytics. I feel my career would benefit from a more in-depth knowledge in the area of analytics and metrics, which this MSc course will afford me.”

Carl Kane, a Senior eMarketing Specialist at Bank of Ireland said, “I feel that with this qualification, I can work towards being a digital leader. I got to where I am on my own and I now really need this qualification to take me to the next level. Receiving the scholarship award is fantastic news!”

‌In addition, Tara Holland has been announced as the winner of the Marketing Institute of Ireland’s Marketing Elevator Scholarship for the programme.

This 80 per cent award enables financially constrained students undertake marketing related study that would normally be out of reach. Tara was an exemplary candidate, having 15 years’ experience in financial services marketing and had been made redundant earlier in 2013. She wanted to kick-start her career gain and extend her skills to digital marketing.

After receiving the Elevator Scholarship award, she said, “I am delighted to receive this award and believe that this MSc will help me reinvent my career in marketing and add a whole new chapter to my expertise.”

The MSc Digital Marketing and Analytics, co-organised by DIT and the Marketing Institute of Ireland, is designed for marketing professionals who are seeking to build their digital marketing knowledge and skills and to further develop their ability to design, implement and measure the effectiveness of marketing strategies.
