29 July 2013: DIT student Alice Lynskey’s song has been released as a single on RTE’s The Hit.

Alice, who is studying pharmaceutical healthcare, took part in the first round of the six part series on Friday evening (26 July).

Her song ‘Run and Hide’ was picked by The Stunning out of six songs at the show filmed in front of a live audience at the 02.

The song was released straightaway on iTunes and is currently charting at number nine but with support (by downloading on iTunes or texting song 1 to 57082), it’s hoped to chart even higher. The other song chosen in the first round was written by Tommy Moore and chosen by singer Julie Feeney.

The song that charts highest across this week will go forward to the grand finale show in August.

Alice is 21 and originally from Tallaght in Dublin. She now lives in Ferns, Co Wexford, and enjoys playing the guitar, writing music and has recently learnt how to play the piano.
