10 October 2013: DIT Hothouse exhibited some of the latest technologies from DIT at Enterprise Ireland’s Big Ideas showcase at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. It also promoted new innovations from its research and innovation consortium partners – IT Tallaght, IT Blanchardstown, IADT and the National College of Ireland.

Amongst the inventors pitching their new technologies to an audience of more than 450 potential investors was Ronan Clarke, CEO of Smart Wall Paint. It was the second introduction to the company for Minister for Research & Innovation Sean Sherlock TD, who had previously met Ronan at the joint DIT, IT Tallaght and IT Blanchardstown Research and Innovation Day in June of this year.

The product can convert any surface into a wipeable, ‘white-board’. Smart Wall Paint is one of several companies and start-ups that are working alongside DIT Hothouse to maximize business opportunities.

Here are some of the pitches at Big Ideas - Hilary Kenna (pitching a personalised search and discovery application called SeeSearch) and Ronan Clarke (pitching Smart Wall Paint), both of whom have received support from DIT Hothouse.
