13 March 2013:  Once again, four DIT students from the B.Sc. Business and Management programme (DT365) qualified for one of the most prestigious undergraduate case study competitions in the world.  The John Molson Undergraduate Case Competition (JMUCC) is an annual event held in the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University, Montreal, Canada. The week-long competition challenges twenty-four teams from internationally renowned business schools in eleven countries to put their creative and analytical skills to the test.

The competition takes place in February and the DIT team travelled to Montreal to take part, accompanied by Team Coach Dr. Eoghan O’Grady.  During an intense week, each team goes through three rounds in which they are given just three hours to work on a Case Study, and then 20 minutes to present their findings.  Panels of judges, drawn from industry, assess the teams’ analysis and presentation skills as a team.  The DIT team acquitted themselves extremely well, ranking first out of 24 institutions after three gruelling rounds.

The 2013 DIT team members were Laura Kenny - Marketing major; Michelle Hyland - HR major; Kathryn O Malley  - Marketing and Finance major; and Paul O Neill – Accounting & Finance major.  Team coach, Dr. Eoghan O Grady, is Programme Chair of the BSc programme in Business and Management.
