DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama presents Benjamin Britten - Noye’s Fludde

20 November 2013: DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama is proud to present a performance of Benjamin Britten’s much-loved children’s opera Noye’s Fludde on Friday 22 November.

The performance will take place at 8pm in St Patrick’s Cathedral and is being held to coincide with the centenary of the birth of the British composer Britten.

The show features Keith Pascoe as conductor, Jennifer Hamilton as director and Lorraine as choral director. David Howes plays Noye, Bríd ní Ghruagáin is Mrs Noye and Joseph Nelson features as the Voice of God.

The performance also features DIT Junior Choirs, DIT Junior String, Recorder, Percussion and Bugle Ensembles and DIT Instrumental Ensemble.

Noye’s Fludde tells the biblical story of Noah and the Ark.  The text is taken from one of the medieval Chester Mystery Plays.  Britten’s music is brilliantly scored for an orchestra and choir of children with parts for professionals and audience participation – and, of course, a menagerie of animals – all in the dramatic setting of St Patrick’s Cathedral.
