The game went straight to number 1 on the Paid IPad Apps Charts overtaking popular titles such as FIFA 13, Angry Birds and Minecraft within 24 hours. It is also performing well on the international charts and has already broken into the US TOP 100 Charts.

Ku: Shroud of the Morrigan is an action adventure in which Ireland’s ancient past and economic present collide. You play as young Ku, who must venture out in to a broken and strange world for the first time. You will have to battle monsters, solve puzzles and retrieve an ancient treasure from the goddess Morrigan. A full Irish language version of the game is available.

According to Eoin Harris of Bitsmith Games "Given that we are an Irish gaming company we felt it was important that a full Irish language version of the game was available. The version has proved very popular with both native speakers and learners of the language. We are delighted to do this as it is initiatives like this that allow the Irish language to keep up to date with technology and provide learning support for the language.”

Tá céimithe ITBAC ar barr na gCairteacha Aipe le cluiche ardteicneolaíochta atá le fáil as Gaeilge.

Tá gnólacht nuathionscanta de chuid ITBÁC Bitsmith Games i ndiaidh an chéad áite a bhaint amach i gCairt Siopa Aipe na hÉireann lena chéad chluiche ‘Kú: The Shroud of the Morrigan.

D’fhorbair céimithe ITBÁC Eoin Harris, Basil Lim agus Ralph Croly an cluiche mar chuid dá dtionscadal deireanach den chúrsa Msc sna Meáin Dhigiteacha Chruthaitheacha & Ríomhchluichíocht, cúrsa a bhfuil móréileamh air. Chuaigh an cluiche díreach go dtí uimhir a haon sna cairt aipe IPad a íoctar as agus laistigh de 24 bhí an aip i ndiaidh a bheith íoslódáilte níos mó ná cluichí cáiliúla eile ar nós Fifa 13, Angry Birds, agus Minecraft. Tá ag éirí go maith leis sna cairt idirnáisúnta agus tá áit i gCairt TOP 100 sna Stáit Aontaithe bainte amach ag an gcluiche cheana féin.

Is gníomhaíocht eachtraíochta é ‘Kú: Shroud of the Morrigan’ ina mbuaileann stair ársa na hÉireann agus an stádas eacnamaíochta na tíre sna lá atá inniu ann le chéile. Agus tú ag imirt an chluiche, glacann tú ról ‘Kú Óg’. Caitheann sé a bhealach a dhéanamh tríd an domhan briste, aisteach seo don chéad uair riamh. Beidh ort/Kú troid in aghaidh ollphéisteanna, cruacheist a dhéanamh amach, agus seoda ársa a shábháil ón mbandia Mhorríghain. Tá leagan iomlán den chluiche le fáil i nGaeilge chomh maith.

Dúirt Eoin Harris ó Bitsmith Games: “Toisc gur chomhlacht Éireannach muid, bhí se fíorthábhachtach dúinn leagan iomlán den chluiche a chur ar fáil i nGaeilge. Tá an-tóir ar an leagan Gaeilge i measc chainteoirí dhúchasacha agus fhoghlaimeoirí na teanga araon. Tugann tionscnaimh den saghas seo deis don Ghaeilge bheith reatha suas agus suas chun dáta sa saol teicneolaíochta chomh maith le bheith ina n-áis foghlamtha iontacha don teanga”.

D’éirigh le Bitsmith tacaíocht a fháil ó Fhiontraíocht Éireann mar chuid den chiste ‘High Potential Start-up Unit’. Is féidir dul i dteagmháil leo ar a suíomh idirlín nó ar Facebook.

Tá tuilleadh eolais ar an Msc sna Meáin Dhigiteacha Chruthaitheacha & Ríomhchluichíocht le fáil ar bhlag an chúrsa nó ar Leathanach Iontrála ITBÁC.
