DIT presents work of EHSI at major eHealth conference

May 24, 2013: Staff from DIT presented the work of the Environmental Health Sciences Institute (EHSI) at the World of Health IT Conference and Exhibition last week.

Dublin was playing host to the conference as part of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The event brought together industry partners and providers from across Europe as well as important government and regional decision makers.

Dr Noreen Layden of EHSI attended to spread the word about the Institute, its mission and its future home on the Grangegorman campus. She was joined at the DIT/EHSI stand by colleagues from Campus Planning, including Dr Noel O’Connor and Professor Gary Heneghan. Colleagues who are involved in relevant research, Damon Berry, Professor Eugene Coyle, Dr John Gilligan and Dr John McGrory were also in attendance.

Dr Layden thanked colleagues for their participation and paid tribute to Stephen Davis from DIT Hothouse for his assistance in organising the stand collateral materials.

“The conference was a great opportunity to raise the profile of the Grangegorman development and DIT’s research/expertise in the field of eHealth,” she said. “We had lots of interest over the three days and made contact with various people (academics, SMEs, government organisations) who expressed interest in potential collaborations with DIT on eHealth projects and/or education opportunities.”
