flatTOP-RETROFIT work is presented

14 June 2013: As part of the Dublin School of Architecture End of Year Exhibition, the work of a number of Springboard supported programmes were presented at flatTOP-RETROFIT.

Last September, the School (with the financial support of the Higher Education Authority and Springboard) admitted 100 unemployed architects and architectural technologists to its programme in Energy Retrofit Technology, Thermal Bridge Assessment and BIM Technologies.

The session, which took place before the official opening of the End of Year Exhibition, showcased the different programmes and featured the Near Zero Energy Building (NZEB) sustainable retrofit of flatTOP (a 5-storey apartment block for DCC).

This work was also on display throughout the week at the exhibition in DIT Linenhall, Bolton Street.

There was a healthy discussion following the presentations, including a contribution by architect and energy consultant Duncan Stewart.
