Mrs Brown on location at DIT

16 September 2013:  Students returning to DIT and first years arriving for their first lectures were surprised to be greeted by lights, cameras and a film set in the foyer of Aungier Street this morning.  The crew was on site to film scenes for the forthcoming feature film of “Mrs Brown’s Boys”, and most of the cast of the hugely popular TV programme were in evidence, including Brendan O’Carroll - aka Mrs Brown herself.

Some students from the DIT School of Media signed up to join the film crew and to get first-hand experience of film-making.  Meanwhile other students – and members of staff! – took the chance to get photos taken with “Mrs. Brown”.

Just two days ago O’Carroll was presented with a ‘People of the Year Award’ for his services to the entertainment industry.  His show “Mrs Brown’s Boys” has become an international phenomenon, winning both BAFTA and IFTA Awards.  The new feature film is scheduled to be released next year.
