The Synchronised Lecture Series organised by DIT lecturer

03 December 2013: The Synchronised Lecture Series, organised by DIT lecturer Naomi Sex, is set to take place at nine different colleges this Thursday (5 December) at 1pm.

The performance will occur at a synchronised time in each location – the performance at DIT is due to take place in the Fine Art department in Portland Row.

The event will comprise nine performance-based lectures using nine actors occurring at a synchronised time and uniform day in the nine key Irish art colleges across the country.

The actors will be rehearsed in scripted dialogue and actions and use media and a minimal use of props to enact a composite piece based on Naomi’s own typical performance – introducing her own work contained within an artist talk.

The lecture series aims to operate as a playful commentary on a homogenised and generic form of presentation prevalent in the field of artistic play and also hopes to couple as a unique and unprecedented artistic event. It will feature in the following venues:

Dublin Institute of Technology

School of Art, Design and Printing, Seminar Room, Fine Art Department Portland Row, Dublin 1.

The National College of Art and Design

Event is scheduled off-site at St. Catherine's Church, Thomas Street, Dublin 8.
