Seachtain na Gaeilge, the annual festival celebrating the Irish language will kick off in DIT with a lunchtime concert in the Theatre of the Conservatory of Music & Drama, Rathmines on Wednesday 26th February from 1-2p.m with the cream of emerging talent from the Conservatory performing.

The concert will feature traditional, classical and jazz music from students of the DIT Conservatory of Music & Drama including the DIT Traditional Music Ensemble, Kevin Corcoran and Robbie Ó Cearbhaill on piano and vocalists Aoife Gibney, Bríd Ní Ghruagáin and Rory Dunne.  Admission is free to the event with light lunch following the concert and all are welcome!

Other events taking place during Seachtain na Gaeilge in DIT include the Seachtain na Gaeilge lunch in the Greenroom Restaurant in DIT Cathal Brugha St. on Monday 3rd March; training on the Official Languages Act taking place in DIT Mount St. on Thursday 13th March from 9.30-11.30a.m; Coffee mornings across DIT campuses from Monday 10th – Thursday 13th March; a choral workshop and to finish up the festival a Céilí Mór will take place in Lafayettes, Westmoreland St. on Thursday 13th March.
