The College of Business will host the annual Idea of the Year Awards 2014 on behalf of The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT) on Wednesday 12th March in DIT Aungier Street. The Minister for Education will be the guest of honour at the annual undergraduate student competition, which is held by the Eastern section of CILT in order to recognise college students with innovative ideas and concepts that may make a contribution to the logistics and transport industry.

The programme will commence at 5pm in the Courtyard Restaurant with a poster display by the short-listed candidates, and a review by the judges. The Awards Ceremony will begin at 6.30pm, starting with the Minister’s address and announcement of category winners for the Student of the Year Awards.

CILT: “To advance and promote the science and art of logistics and transport.” 

Presentations will take place on Wednesday 12th March 2014

in the Courtyard, Ground Floor,

DIT College Aungier Street, Dublin 2.

The presentations will be followed by a reception, and an opportunity for all those attending to view the displayed shortlisted and winning entries.

 Competition Details:

Who can enter?  Students studying Logistics, Transport or Supply Chain Management and related services.

Scope of the Awards: The overall title of the awards encompass categories under the broad heading, "The Movement of Goods, People and Services.

The Ideas of the Year Awards are sponsored by the CILTI and industry and granted to the winning entries from those who are studying Logistics, Transport or Supply Chain Management and the related service industries including IT.

Adjudication of Submissions:  All submissions are evaluated under the headings: Originality; Research; Feasibility; and Presentation. Prizes are awarded for innovative and/or creative ideas which, in the opinion of the judges, can make a considered contribution to the business of logistics and transport in Ireland.  There are no charges to students for entry.
