The Marketing Institute of Ireland and DIT School of Marketing - Ireland’s leading provider of marketing education - have partnered to develop the innovative Masters Degree in Digital Marketing & Analytics.

The MSc in Digital Marketing and Analytics will host the first in a series of seminars on Tuesday 24 June.

‎Tara Grehan, Managing Director at Datalytics, will moderate a panel of three speakers discussing the value of storytelling with data.

The panel of speakers will touch on ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’ before leaving you with some top tips to ensure your Data Story is both insightful and impactful.

Moderator Tara will get the Ugly bit out of the way first – visualising data to turn ugly into engaging. Alan McCarthy, Standard Life, will join Tara to give his take on the Good – how Data Storytelling is enhancing business.

Hugh Jones, Sytorus, will tackle the Bad – telling the Data Horror Story when a breach occurs. Finally Colleen Savage, Savage Research, will give her best tips on how to tell a really good story!

Speakers’ Biogs:

Tara Grehan, Datalytics, has worked in marketing both agency and client side for 15 years now and has enjoyed a variety of roles from Market Research and Customer Insights to Change Management. Tara specialises in turning data into insights for her clients and uses storytelling and data visualisation to impart the nuggets often hidden away in databases.

Alan McCarthy, Standard Life, has worked in Financial Services for many years now and primarily focuses on Sales and Business Development.  Financial Services enjoy a rich history of data collection and this has captured Alan’s imagination for customer segmentations, profiling and data modelling.  Using existing data to generate new business is a fundamental in growth strategy and one that Alan practises often.

Colleen Savage, Savage Research, is a very experience Insights Manager who uses research, planning and collaboration to create strategies that transform how clients think and work with consumers.  Her lifelong interest in story telling is now put to great use as Colleen runs Story Telling Training courses to help participants experience the different techniques and approaches to storytelling, which can be used to create compelling stories in a business context.
