DIT’s Gaeilge Student ResidencyScheme is organised by Oifig na Gaeilge in order to develop and support the Institute’s Irish language speaking community and to promote the use of Irish amongst DIT’s student population.

DIT is offering scholarships to students with Irish to share apartment accommodation through the medium of Irish during the academic year in Dublin city centre.

Irish will be the spoken language in the residence. Applicants will have to organise events and actively promote and encourage the use of Irish on campus and amongst DIT’s student community.

Normal rental costs will apply for the accommodation but students will receive scholarships to help with the cost of the accommodation, subject to their fulfilling the conditions of the scheme.

Current DIT students as well as students who will begin study in DIT for the first time in September 2014 from any programme in DIT are invited to apply.

The application form for Scéim Chónaithe Ghaeilge 2014/15 is now available at

All applicants must fill out an application form and return it to Oifig na Gaeilge by Friday 2nd May 2014 and must also sit an interview. Scéim Chónaithe 2014/15 participants will be confirmed in August 2014.
