DIT signs collaboration agreement with top Chinese University

14 May 2014: DIT has signed a collaboration agreement with Ningbo Institute of Technology of Zhejiang University, in Zhejiang Province, China.  Ningbo Institute of Technology is administered by Zhejiang University (ZJU) which is consistently ranked in the Top 5 Universities in China and it is located in the newly founded Ningbo Higher Education District. 

The initial objectives of the DIT-NIT Agreement are to develop a faculty exchange programme, a student exchange programme and research collaborations in the areas of Computer Science and Food Science and Environmental Health.  It is intended that further collaborations in other disciplines and activities will develop over time.  NIT has 10 Schools including Biological and Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Architecture, Economics and International Trade, Foreign Language Studies, Information Science and Engineering, Law, Management, Mechanical and Energy Engineering and Media and Design.

NIT is located in Zhejiang province, People's Republic of China, a major seaport on the eastern coast of China, south of Shanghai. Ningbo is one of China’s most historic regions and is the birthplace of the oldest Chinese civilisation, the Hemudu culture, which dates to 5,000 BC.
