DIT’s Dr. Paul Donnelly elected to Academy of Management Division Leadership

03 June, 2014:    Dr. Paul Donnelly of DIT’s College of Business has been elected to the Academy of Management's Critical Management Studies (CMS) Division leadership track. Paul is the first Irish academic to be elected to the CMS Division leadership track. The Academy of Management is the oldest and largest scholarly management association in the world. Since its founding in 1936, the Academy has evolved to an organization of over 18,000 active members from 117 countries. The CMS Division membership is the most international of all 25 Academy divisions and interest groups.


Paul ran for election with his colleague, Prof. Banu Özkazanç-Pan (University of Massachusetts, Boston), having received multiple nominations placing them on the ballot.  Paul and Banu’s 5-year term on the CMS Division's Executive will see them fill the following roles:

- Division Professional Development Workshop (PDW) Chair 2014-15

- Division Programme Chair 2015-16

- Division Chair-elect 2016-17

- Division Chair 2017-18

- Past Division Chair 2018-19

Both Paul and Banu have independently and jointly been active in the Academy since 2000, presenting work in the scholarly programme and organizing/participating in symposia and professional development workshops across various divisions, including: Critical Management Studies; Entrepreneurship; Gender and Diversity in Organizations; International Management; Management Education and Development; Management, Spirituality and Religion; Organization and Management Theory; Research Methods; and Social Issues in Management.
