EY Head to Head Challenge at DIT

05 February 2014:  DIT Career Development Centre paired up with EY (formerly Ernst and Young) in our first Business Case Study Challenge on Wednesday 5th February in DIT Aungier Street.  Working with a real world case study and against the clock, eleven teams of penultimate year students from various programmes went head-to-head, demonstrating their analytical, teamwork, creative and communication skills to EY personnel.

Laurence Whitson, DIT Career Development Centre, said “The Head to Head Challenge is one of a series of planned industry-related  events organised by the Career Development Centre in an on-going effort to afford DIT students the opportunity to showcase their talents, whilst utilising their academic and career development learning in an experiential setting.The event was hugely successful and very much enjoyed by participants and industry colleagues alike.”


Award recipients

Mark Darby (studying Business and Management) and Dale Mc Dermot (studying Accounting and Finance) both secured summer internships with EY.  They also have the opportunity to win one of two places at the EY international Internship Leadership Conference 2014 in Disneyland, Florida. If successful, Mark and Dale will have the opportunity to meet with the best and brightest future talent from the EY Global Community and with EY CEO, Mark Weinburg.

Justin Owens (studying Marketing) and Adam Ryan (studying Product Design) jointly won Best Male Speaker Award and Emma Mealiff (studying Accounting and Finance) won Best Female Speaker Award

The winning team are students of Economics and Finance – Barry Lalor, Louis Hopkins, Viktorija Podleckyte; Conor McClean; Jennifer-Dillon Murphy; Michael Tobin.  They have all secured places on EY’s Insight week this summer.
