From DIT to Katmandu - DIT Travel Scholar Daire now in Nepal

10 May 2014:     DIT’s Travel Scholar in Renewable Energy has arrived to begin his three month placement with charity Renewable World in Nepal.

Daire Reilly, a PhD Researcher from the School of Civil and Building Services Engineering at DIT was chosen as the 2014 Scholar last December and is the 3rd DIT Travel Scholar in Renewable Energy. The DIT Travel Scholarship in Renewable Energy provides an opportunity for a high-achieving DIT graduate with a Masters Degree or PhD to pursue a practical work assignment in a developing country in the area of renewable energy.


The recipient will work for a period of up to 3 months on a project managed by the international charity Renewable World. Renewable World tackles poverty through working with local partners to support the provision of affordable renewable energy services for poor communities in order to improve livelihoods, health and education.
