Best Student Film award for DIT graduates

Two graduates from DIT in Film and Broadcasting have won the BAI and Canon Ireland “Best Student Film” award at the Fingal Film Festival 2014.  Director Ciaran Dooley and Producer Mark Holland, who will graduate in November this year, won the award for their graduate film ‘I’ve been a Sweeper’ starring Eamon Morrissey.  They were presented with their award at the Festival Closing Award Night in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Dublin Airport.


The Fingal Film Festival offers a platform that encourages and promotes the works of local, national and international emerging film makers, and provides them with access to experienced industry professionals.  The judging panel for the 8 Award Categories this year, including Best Student Film, were  Rob Cullen, Founder and Creative Director Boulder Media LTD, Mícheál Ó Meallaigh Director of Commissioning TG4, and Ciaran Tanham, Director of Photography ISC. The panel is independent of the Festival organisers.
