IMRAM CLÓ DRAíOCHTA 4

Taispeántas Clóghrafaíochta

I gcomhar le IMRAM, tá Clare Bell agus Brenda Dermody, léachtóirí in Institiúid Teicneolaíochta Bhaile Átha Cliath, ina gcoimeádaithe arís ar an taispeántas clóghrafaíochta Cló Draíochta 4 ina gcuireann a gcuid daltaí dánta le filí ár linne inár láthair. Chun an taispeántas a lainseáil go spleodrach dúinn, léifidh na filí na téacsanna atá roghnaithe agus teilgfear saothar na mac léinn ar scáileán. Ina dhiaidh sin beidh ceol le Retrospect. Cuirfidh an diosceachaí Billy Ó hAnluain clabhsúr ar an oíche lena rogha féin de shnagcheol, func, salsa agus gormacha.

In collaboration with IMRAM, Dublin Institute of Technology lecturers Clare Bell and Brenda Dermody have again curated a special exhibition of poetry rendered by design students. Poetry selected for the exhibition includes work by Doireann Ní Ghríofa, Marcus MacConghail, Gabriel Rosenstock, Séamus Barra Ó Súilleabháin and Mícheál Ó hAodha. IMRAM has booked 30 city-centre poster sites to display the best of the students’ work, ensuring that Irish language literature will have a presence in Dublin city centre during the festival.

To celebrate the work, IMRAM has organised a night of poetry and music on Monday 13th October, during which the poets will read their work as the students’ work is projected onscreen. This will be followed by a fun‑filled performance by Retrospect – a string quartet that plays stunning versions of hits by New Order, ABC, Marc Almond and others. The band is the brainchild of Irish violist, arranger and producer, Karen Dervan. The night will come to a close with a DJ set of jazz, funk, salsa and blues from Billy Ó hAnluain.  The event takes place in The Grand Social at 35 lower Liffey Street Dublin 1 from 7pm and admission is free.
