The DIT Societies’ XMAS Appeal takes place this year from November 24th to December 5th. The annual event is a highlight on the DIT social calander, packed with events and activities taking place across the various DIT campuses.

The XMAS Appeal encourages student engagement from every area of campus life.   This year the students involved in the XMAS Appeal have elected to support four charities, namely; Saint Vincent de Paul, The Simon Community, The Irish Cancer Society and Dogs Trust.

Last year the Societies’ XMAS Appeal raised over €5,000 to support five great causes (SVP, Cystic Fibrosis Ireland, Irish Cancer Society, DIT Student Assistance Fund, Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital).

As well as providing assistance to the nominated charities the DIT Societies’ XMAS appeal also helps to create a sense of community across the DIT. ‘The Societies’ XMAS Appeal is always a great opportunity for us to showcase the incredible depth of talent among our societies and students here in DIT’, notes Societies President, Kaytee Behan. ‘It’s also a great opportunity for students from a variety of backgrounds to make a real difference by raising funds for these incredible charities’. XMAS Appeal

The Societies’ XMAS Appeal will also continue to support the popular Saint Vincent de Paul Giving Tree initiative. Students and staff can take a tag from one of the trees, located across the various campuses, and buy a new gift for the child or adult on their tag. Giving Tree

Societies’ are very proud to once again be leading DIT’s primary fundraising drive.
