Making a Statement – Fine Art students at Grangegorman

To some they were long, green barriers erected to block the view of ongoing construction, but to Second Year Fine Art students they were a huge canvas waiting to be adorned and an opportunity to work on a large scale.

And so, the hoardings on the Grangegorman campus became a readymade outdoor gallery with a constant, passing audience. The imagery was based on the project themes of Historical and Cultural Memory and, as one would expect, the outcomes ranged from the humorous to the psychological, from the analytical and questioning to the controversial
